HeartStorming: Learners in Residence on the Reclamation and Rebuilding of Narratives

This week, we were honored to convene many of Spring Point Partners’ Learners in Residence for HeartStorming – an invitation to listen, learn, reflect, and connect across complex issues and heart-powered solutions.

This collection of changemakers, connectors, artists, and advocates – together with human-centered facilitators and speakers including our Keynote Storyteller, NY Times Best Selling Author Clint Smith – are part of an 18-month residence that provides time, space and resources for social impact-focused thought leaders to develop new ways to engage and shift narrative in their respective fields.

If you tell people a different story about America, it is not just asking them to easily recalibrate history; it’s asking them to recalibrate who they are themselves and the story they tell about themselves

Clint Smith

Individually and collectively, they’re making connections, creating community, innovating for change – and doing groundbreaking work. Their multifaceted projects focus on a diversity of themes and impact areas including:

  • Raising awareness and shifting policy on state-sanctioned violence
  • Expanding and deepening the view of how we define the American identity
  • Unearthing and documenting community histories and impacts made invisible through racially oppressive systems and practices
  • Centering art and creative processes as fundamental needs for healthy people, communities, and organizations
  • Building inclusive schools, curricula, and systems that serve young people more fully

And so much more! We are grateful for the opportunity to have been in community with our Learners (IRL!) and to learn from and with them.

Stay tuned for more about their projects, their work and, especially, their impact! In the grand scheme of things, they have only just begun!
